Enchiladas

we were having dinner out at a local pub a couple of weeks ago and Syndey said she really wanted enchiladas. We were in the middle of eating and I old her that she needed to eat what she ordered. She kept asking for enchiladas. She has had them before but I never realized how much she liked them.

As we were leaving the pub I remembered that across the street was a gelato shop that we went to during the summer. Sydney instantly went running for the 'enchildo' shop.

Obammy!

So yesterday we were at the farmers market and there was this lady that had a table set up for the Democratic party and a life size cut out of Obama standing next to it.
As any almost 3year olds Sydney has been asking a lot of questions. Questions about the election. 'Is that Obama?' she says while in the grocery store passing by magazines. 'Hey look John McCain.' while we are watching the news. What is a vote? Who is the president? When sydney gets in the way toomany why cycle, we like to give her the long very detailed answer. So this past couple of weeks it has been on the election and Obama.
So when Sydney say this life size Obama, she ran toward it yelling ' Obama mommy Obama. OBAMMY". Needless to say this got a lot of attention from the on lookers. A bit later we are waiting for the best cup of coffee and Sydney says, " Mom you know what?, Obama is going to be President! Yea Obammy!"
The funny things having an almost 3 year old, who like to ask a lot of questions, in an election year.

Went to get pumpkins this past week. It was another typical Oregon day. Rainy, sunny, warm, cold and muddy.
Sydney loved jumping in the puddles and stomping in the mud.
Sydney can't wait fo halloween to go trick or treating and get candy. She is going to be a ballerina fairy. She had to have a red tutu. So nana made on for her that is pretty darn cute. I too am excited for halloween to see sydney in her costume and hear her say trick or treat to the neighbors.

Lazy Saturday afternoon

some time with Stella.

Took a nice walk in a garden down by the river. It was a perfect NW day. A little rainy, a little sunny, a little gray, a little damp..... Along the way their was a perfect sized bench just for Sydney.

A conversation between Sydney and Nate while looking at pictures of Sydney when she was first born;

S- Hey dad look at you hair!
N- What about it?
S- look how much you have.
N- Where did my hair go?
S- I knocked it down when I was a baby.

Sydney loves food. She actually loves SNACKS. Sometimes at night I hear, 'I wanna a snack!', echoing through my head. She loves snacks. She eats great at breakfast and lunch but dinner is another story
It is like pulling teeth to get her to eat her dinner. I will make her favorite thing and it just sits in the bowl waiting to be consumed.

Latley we have been sitting at the dinner table and hour + till she at least has a couple of substantial bits of food. Her trick usually is to say, " I am not hungry." or " I don't like this food." and then about 10 min later say, " I wanna a snack!".

So last night at dinner in a ploy to get some food in her belly I offer to help her eat. I get the spagehtii on the fork and say "okay, open up big for the pasgehtti!" and she responds with, ' I will not open for you. My mouth is closed for 4 days. ( if only this were really true!). You can not put food in me."

She is now in the , not only NO phase, but the ' No, I will not' phase. Points for full sentences.

Our meal usually ends with bit after bite of cold food followed by gagging and closed pressed eyes as each bite goes down.
